Our Institute’s research project “The effect of Taxation Reforms on reducing inequality” participated the event as a funded project. Our Vice Director Wan Haiyuan and Project Researcher Meng Fanqiang participated the conference.

Vice Director Wan Haiyuan reported the research progress and contribution to the judges. “The effect of Taxation Reforms on reducing inequality” project was initiated in June 2017. Over a year, the team has drafted reports of over 130,000 characters, which gives a comprehensive review and analysis of China’s taxation reform’s contribution and limitations on reducing inequality. The report has also provided policy suggestions on possible directions for future taxation reforms.

After the presentation, the judges and experts commented on the project and agreed on the fact that the project report was supported with concrete contents, reliable data and sufficient arguments. They recognized the contribution of the report on elaborating the mechanism of taxation reforms on reducing inequality.

Finally, some suggestions were put forward on the further perfection of the research.
