Dear CHIP-team,

I have a couple of questions for the CHIP 2013 data available.

1) Are there weights available to make the analysis nationally representative?

2) Is information on the province of the household/individual available? I could only find information on the province, if the status of hukou is outside of the province. But I could not find a question regarding the province they reside in.

3) Is there a codebook that explains coded answers? (e.g. there seems to be a code on provinces, etc.)

I would be very thankful for any help on this.

Many thanks,

Johanna

 Hi,

1, we have a Chinese short paper to introduce the data weight. The link is http://ciid.bnu.edu.cn/news/201707/20170729115431706.html.

The English version can be found in book  Changing Trends in China's Inequality: Evidence, Analysis, and Prospects, by Shi Li, Hiroshi Sato, Terry Sicular and Ximing Yue eds. Oxford University. But this book is not published now and will be published in this year.

2, The province-level information can be found in China's Statisitcal yearbook or the website of National Bureau of Statistics according to the province code in data.

3, The code of answers can be found in questionaires.
